Autonomous Manufacturing Research Division

Autonomous Manufacturing Research Division Image

The Autonomous Manufacturing Research Division aims to realize safe, autonomous factories where humans, robots, equipment, and devices connect and coexist seamlessly. To this end, the Division drives the development of core Physical AI–based autonomous manufacturing technologies. Its key research areas include data-centric AI for securing manufacturing data reliability, physical–virtual linked behavioral intelligence for manufacturing robots and equipment, large-scale collaborative operation intelligence, and trust and safety technologies for the industrial deployment of Physical AI.
To achieve this, the Division is organized into the Behavioral Intelligence for Autonomous Manufacturing Research Section and the Autonomous Collaborative Operational Intelligence Research Section. These research sections plan to establish a converged research framework- from precise AI-based manipulation of individual equipment or robots to autonomous collaboration across multiple heterogeneous systems—creating organic synergies across research domains.

By securing these core technologies and validating them in the field through industry-academia-research collaboration, the Autonomous Manufacturing Research Division will accelerate the AI transformation (AX) of the domestic manufacturing industry and establish global technological leadership in autonomous manufacturing.
