Participating in the 2015 International Conference on the Internet of Things held in Seoul, October 28-30, 2015, ETRI introduced the latest IoT technologies and services to the general public as well as interested parties in the industry. In particular, ETRI exhibited IoT technologies that will become a future growth engine of new industries of ICT convergence, such as the areas that recently came into the limelight; IoT platforms, home IoT, automobile IoT, and health IoT.
More specifically, ETRI showcased a total of 15 kinds of IoT convergence technology across all industries independently developed by ETRI based on the international standards for IoT common platform; semantic IoT systems, IoT mirror social care services, driver convenience systems based on wireless sensor networks, and large-volume and high-speed IoT sensor tag and device technology.
“The IoT technology has already applied to a wide range of industries and reached the commercialization stage, but much more should be done to realize vital use in the private sector based on sustainable services,” stated Dr. Hyo-Chan Bang, Director of the IoT Convergence Research Department at ETRI. “I hope this exhibition will bring the public a step closer to a safe and convenient society of hyper-connected intelligence.”
On October 29, 2015, the second day of the event, ETRI held a briefing session on technology transfer at an exhibition hall at the COEX complex, Seoul.
The event served as an opportunity for ETRI to introduce its core IoT technologies and commercialization support measures for small to medium-sized businesses, proactively addressing technology issues many businesses have and eliminating barriers to introducing new technologies.
