Announcement of ETRI’s Forthcoming Technologies 2015 was made as in other 8 years since 2008. Through this announcement of new technologies to be developed, ETRI assists businesses—direct consumers of those new technologies—to actively utilize the technologies developed by ETRI and to successfully commercialize them. Under this policy, SMEs will receive prior information on the general overview, excellence, marketability, and expected effects regarding the technologies ETRI will release this year, a move that is expected to provide significant help to commercialization efforts.
The technology notice policy is one example of ETRI’s endeavors to promote the earliest possible commercialization of R&D outcomes and mutual cooperation between a government-funded research institute and SMEs, and has thus far received positive responses from businesses each year.

In 2015, a total of 103 technologies were announced in advance, including a high-performance storage technology for virtual desktop infrastructure(VDI) service, which is scheduled to be completed within this year. “We have tried to help businesses obtain useful information about all aspects, such as the pursuit of new business opportunities and enhancement of technological capacity,” said Dr. Tchanghee Hyun, Vice President of ETRI. “In order to provide more abundant information to businesses, we will provide free e-book USB flash drives to SMEs that contain all data on technology notices from 2008 to 2014.”
