ETRI·KOREATECH Signed MOU
On January 14, 2015, ETRI signed a mutual agreement with the Korea University of Technology and Education, located in Cheonan, and organized a joint research team to conduct research projects together.

At the agreement ceremony, the two institutions agreed on a number of issues, including internship programs, mutual visits and dispatches of researchers, a researcher-professor faculty system, and management of technology(MOT) education for employees.

In particular, ETRI resolved to discover ICT-related innovative technologies and conduct joint research in partnership with KOREATECH, a leader in nurturing experts in practical engineering.

It also plans to take advantage of the top MOT curriculum and the professional science master(PSM) programs offered by KOREATECH and operate internships and a researcher-professor faculty system as well as provide training to ETRI researchers.

Outstanding researchers at ETRI will be invited to serve as faculty members at the university to reinforce specialized MOT education, and the curricula will be managed by the Technology Commercialization Division of ETRI, one of Korea’s best technology licensing offices(TLO).
Through the cooperative activities with KOREATECH, ETRI is committed to enhancing the competitive power of specialists of both institutions and increase the knowledge sharing experience based on the exchange of researchers.

The institution is also planning to take part in developing cooperative models for technology commercialization by pursuing convergent projects with small and medium-sized enterprises within the new science business belt.

"The collaboration with a top research institute such as ETRI will greatly benefit the advancement of our university" said KOREATECH President Kim Ki-Young.

"We will strive to showcase innovative capabilities in the field of ICT" President Kim Heung-Nam of ETRI said, "We need to emulate the valued idea of practical engineering of KOREATECH, as proved by its performance, and our institutions should collaborate with the coming science business belt to achieve synergies"
