According to the 2018 status report on elementary and middle school career training conducted last year by the Ministry of Education, the most popular professions among elementary students include athletes, teachers, doctors, cooks, YouTubers, and entertainers. Among middle and high school students, teachers ranked first, followed by nurses and police officers. The world is big and wide, and there are countless jobs available for us, but our children always reply in unison, “I want to be a teacher or a police officer.” Why? Korea Job World Where Various Job Hands-on Job Experience Is Awaiting Visitors
Korea Job World is the country’s one and only national job experience center established to help our teenagers build a sound perspective on their future occupation and choose their career paths and jobs. If you want to visit Korea Job World, the first thing to do is to make an online reservation. Visit the website to take a look at its exhibition halls at a glance. It has various exhibition halls, such as the Job Exhibition Hall, Children Experience Hall, Youth Experience Hall, and Career Planning Hall. Choose exhibition halls and a time suitable for your children.
For the Job Exhibition Hall and the Career Planning Hall, you can buy tickets on the spot to enjoy them without any reservation. However, the ultimate reason to visit Korea Job World is to enjoy hands-on job experience. During weekdays, there are many group visits from schools, and, on the weekend, individual reservations are accepted, and therefore it is recommended to make a reservation in advance. Please note that if you want to visit the Youth Experience Hall, you need to select which experience rooms to enjoy in advance. To do so, you need to sign up at its website and book the experience rooms of your choice.
After purchasing a ticket, you will be given a Joy Tag in the form of a necklace. This Joy Tag is a ticket and also functions like a credit card within Korea Job World. You will receive 50 Joy when entering the place and earn 10 Joy every time you experience each hands-on activity. You are supposed to pay with your Joy at various places, such as Pizza Parlor, Cookie Shop, Korean Food Research Institute, and Neul Pum Café. All these activities will help your children naturally develop economic sense. After the completion of all experience programs, you can purchase souvenirs, such as notebooks and pencils, with the remaining Joy.

Encompassing Each and Every Job Available in the World
The first place to visit is the Job Exhibition Hall on the fifth floor. Here, exhibition commentary is provided all the time at each section to help our children and teenagers proactively prepare for their future. When passing the entrance, you will encounter the Hidden Workers in the World section. This section is where visitors can learn about safety and information-related jobs that support our society while being unseen and unnoticed. Various unfamiliar occupations that make our life more convenient are introduced here, such as road maintenance workers, industrial engineer divers, emergency medical technicians, subway maintenance workers, and sewage plumbers. Here, visitors may feel how delicately and considerately this place has been designed, particularly in its efforts to encompass all valuable jobs available in the world rather than focusing only on conspicuous and prominent jobs. After going around the hall, you will encounter the Game Industry Exhibition Hall, where you can enjoy exciting VR experience. On the way down to the fourth floor, you can enjoy pictures and videos that show the history of occupations from the past to modern times.
Moving down to the fourth floor, you will find the entrance of the Future Job Lab. Here, visitors can experience a future society established by applying technologies that can be implemented in practice. This lab has been newly established in an attempt to keep pace with the new paradigm brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Korea Job World’s commitment to continuously developing content and providing accurate information is notable in this space. Visitors can experience various future technologies such as the smart car, one of the key future transport means. The smart car also serves as a new living space where people can communicate with AI applications. Children will encounter the future of cars embedded with AI technology. They will also experience the abilities of the smart car, which can detect hazards while driving on its own and park itself. In the meantime, they will learn about a new future job, i.e., an unmanned operating system engineer.
A new lab for the secondary future jobs named “Smart Wall” introduces future professionals created by converging cutting-edge science and technological solutions. You can create your own future job avatar and search for future jobs that might be newly created in the future. In the Pioneers of Future Jobs section, you can meet domestic and international leading figures of the past, present, and future, and thus learn about their initiative, determination, and attitude toward their future dreams. Meanwhile, the Smart City section exhibits how future technologies will evolve in a comprehensive manner. During your visit to Korea Job World, do not forget to enjoy hands-on experience activities here. You can watch how drones are collecting urban information and have a glimpse of how the future city is being operated and managed by AI.

Identifying Your Interests and Talents through Exciting Hands-on Experience
While the Job Exhibition Hall introduces various occupations, the Career Planning Hall helps visitors identify their aptitudes and interests. The Career Planning Hall is composed of the Self-test Zone, Counseling Zone, and Career Information Zone. The Self-test Zone provides a game-like test that helps identify your interests and abilities through exciting hands-on experience, unlike an aptitude test where you must solve written problems while sitting on a chair. First, you can go around each section, such as Interest Cardinal Points, Interest Constellation, and Interest Pond, to learn about your interest type: for example, an investigative type, realistic type, or artistic type. The next stage is the Talent Spectrum. This section provides a game-type test based on Gardener’s Multiple Intelligences Theory, providing information about your intelligent strengths and weaknesses. Also, an online career test will provide career recognition classes along with information about your occupational values, interests, and aptitudes. The test takes about 90 minutes, and you can attend a counseling session after the test at the Counseling Design Zone.
The last place to visit is the Experience Hall: Children Experience Hall and Youth Experience Hall. The Children Experience Hall is a hands-on experience space intended for children from four to ten years old. You can choose when to visit, either in the morning or in the afternoon, and make a reservation accordingly and enjoy the activities of your choice. There are a total of 37 experience rooms and 44 occupations presented here. The Youth Experience Hall has a completely different atmosphere from the Children Experience Hall. Hands-on experience activities provided here are role play activities. In each section, various industrial sites are precisely reproduced, and scenarios for various occupations are available so that participating teenagers can understand how it feels to work at actual industrial sites and identify how those sites are structured.
