Title : Design Paradigm of MobileAP (Application Processor)
Speaker: 우정호 박사, Texas Instruments, Dallas, U.S.
Abstract
In this talk, we discuss about the market status of the mobile devices and architectures of mobileAPs. Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets become the center of the computing devices and we can use almost the whole applications we did with PC in our mobile devices. The dramatic evolution of mobileAP makes this possible. This talk covers the state-of-the-art mobile AP architectures such as Qualcomm’s S4 processor or T.I.’s OMAP, the key innovations they have, and the challenges we are heading now. In addition, we discuss what Apple did in their A6 processor for iPhone5 and the influences in the market.
Contents will be covered
- Mobile market status and direction
- Challenges of Mobile APs
- Mobile processor architectures (CPU / GPU / Memory)
- Design paradigm shift in mobile processor area
